What services do Carer Support Organisations offer?

Following on from the Carers Assessments, Support Workers can create support plans and carry out regular reviews. This includes Emergency support planning for unforeseen circumstances.

In addition to this Carers are offered many other services including help with finances, such as benefits assessments and reviews, blue badges and council tax reductions.

Depending on the Carers needs Support Workers can provide information or they can signpost to other organisation such as health, social care and other voluntary organisations.

Carer Support Organisation staff are experienced in listening and giving emotional support to Carers and through fundraising activities they often run subsidised or free day trips, events and activities for Carers of all ages.

Young Carers from the age of 5-18 on a 1-1 basis are supported and after school clubs and holiday activities are delivered. Support is also given in family and multi-agency meetings.

Through Volunteers the Carer Support Organisations are able to offer walking groups, respite sits, a driving service, social hubs and additional IT or back to work assistance.

This list is not exhaustive and each Carer Support Organisation offers a slightly different service provision.
