#TalkMoney

Talk Money Week is taking place this week. This annual campaign from the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) is designed to break the taboo of talking about money and in doing so connect people with the guidance they may need.

This year, MaPS are asking organisations across the UK to ‘Do One Thing’ that could help improve people’s financial wellbeing.

It could be asking them to check if they’re eligible for Pension Credit, to talk to a child about money, or to try one of the free tools on the government-backed MoneyHelper website. You can find more ideas on the MaPS website.

Are you missing out on extra cash?

Up to 850,000 families entitled to Pension Credit have not claimed it!

Lots of people could be missing out on Pension Credit because they wrongly think it isn’t meant for them. You might still get extra money even if you own your own home or have some savings. It only takes a few minutes to make sure you’re getting all you’re entitled to.

Pensioners can check their eligibility and get an estimate of what they may receive by using the online Pension Credit calculator - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
